2017 China's lithium battery industry is in the stabilization period. The production yield and sales volume of new energy vehicles and lithium high power batteries for the whole year is lower than the forecast for the beginning of 2017, but if we evaluate from the technical progress speed, market structure, business development center, industrial chain layout, Raw material prices down , in 2017 China's lithium industry is still achieved good results.
First, the national output of new energy vehicles in 2017 was 780,000 units;
Actual: In January-November 2017, the output was 615,000, which is expected to reach 750,000 for the whole year.
Second In 2017, the production capacity of high power batteries will continue to expand. It is estimated that the high power battery capacity will exceed 100GWh by the end of 2017;
Actual: GICII research shows that by the end of 2017, the effective capacity of China's high power battery will reach 110GWh.
Third, the integration of high power batteries are in the beginning, some three or four level high power battery companies will be weed out
Actually: There are 150 high power batteries manufacturer in 2016, 12 new companies by 2017, more than 20 company leave the field ,and less than 140 high power battery enterprises in total in the end of 2017
Fourth, the high power battery pack price will drop over 20% than 2017 and the gross profit will drop to 25% to 30%;
Actual: In 2017, the annual average price of high power battery dropped by 20% -25%, and the profit downtrend is obviously
Fifth, lithium carbonate, lithium hexafluorophosphate prices fall; lithium hexafluorophosphate prices will have a more substantial decline;
Actual: The price of lithium hexafluorophosphate dropped from perennial 350,000 / tonne to 150,000 / tonne, a decline of more than 57%.
Lithium carbonate prices relatively stable in the first quarter, the second quarter recovery gains, from 130,000 / ton up to the current 180,000 / ton.
TAC Guangzhou plant continued concern for the new energy vehicles ternary or iron lithium battery block, high power battery and soft pack poly lithium battery.
