Charging method of aeromodelling lithium-ion battery
 
When the voltage of the lithium-ion battery reaches 3.0V, the charger enters the CC step
 
 
The fast charging current is usually limited to a speed of 0.5C to 1C to prevent overheating and consequent deterioration. The speed must be adjusted so that the battery temperature does not exceed 45°C. The battery is charged at high speed until the battery reaches the voltage regulation limit (4.2V/cell for cathode batteries based on LiCoO2 and 4.4V for anode coupled batteries based on LiCoO2) Yes. When the model airplane lithium-ion battery is fully charged, the charger starts to control the battery voltage, and when entering the CV level, the charging current drops sharply to a predetermined end level. To prevent charging dead batteries for a long time, a fast charging safety timer is usually required. Even if the battery does not reach the shutdown current, the battery charger must be turned off after the safe time is over.
 
 
Proper use of lithium-ion batteries for model airplanes
 
 
1. Discharge current: The discharge current must not exceed the maximum discharge current specified by the battery (the formula is milliampere &pide; 1000 and then multiplied by the C number = limit discharge current.) Excessive current discharge will cause a sharp decrease in capacity and cause the battery to overheat and expand. In the popular words of model friends, don't pump the battery too hard, so even if it is not put, the battery life will be significantly reduced.
 
 
2. Discharge temperature: Li-ion batteries must be discharged within the operating temperature range specified in the specification. When the surface temperature of the battery exceeds 60°C, stop using it temporarily until the battery cools to room temperature.
 
 
3. Over-discharge: Over-discharge will cause devastating damage to the battery, so it is best not to make the voltage of the single battery lower than 3.7V when discharging.
 
 
4. The battery should be stored in a cool environment. When storing the battery for a long time (more than 3 months), it is recommended to place it in an environment with a temperature of 10-25°C and a low temperature without corrosive gas. During long-term storage, the battery is charged and discharged every 3 months to maintain battery activity and ensure that the voltage of each cell is within 3.85V.
