Ni-MH batteries are environmentally friendly batteries, and the cost is much higher than that of Ni-Cr batteries. This sweeping robot can be exported to EU countries for sale. Because the Ni-MH battery has a memory function, there are relatively clear requirements for the first three charging times, and in practical applications, the capacity of the Ni-MH battery is seriously attenuated. Nowadays, there are many complaints from users about the short service life of the sweeping robot battery and the high replacement cost. . At present, there are two important reasons for robot cleaners to use nickel-metal hydride batteries. One is that lithium-ion batteries with good performance are considered to have hidden dangers, and the other is that due to cost considerations, the price of lithium-ion batteries is higher than that of nickel-hydrogen batteries. .
Lithium-ion batteries are environmentally friendly batteries that can pass Rosh and relevant certifications required by the European Union. At the same time, lithium-ion batteries have the advantages of fast charging, large capacity, and no memory function. Therefore, in recent years, some domestic robot vacuum factories have begun to use lithium-ion batteries.
If the battery of your previous sweeping robot is not a lithium-ion battery, but a nickel-metal hydride or nickel-cadmium battery, we do not recommend that the user replace it with a power lithium-ion battery. If you want to change it, please ask a technician to do it. The important reasons are The following two points:
1) The voltage may not match. Different types of batteries have different voltage working intervals. The voltage working interval must be basically the same to work normally. For example, your sweeping robot previously used a nickel-metal hydride battery with a nominal voltage of 12V and a capacity of 2Ah. Its working voltage range should be between 9-14V. Then the working voltage range and capacity of the lithium-ion battery used to replace this battery It should be basically the same. For example, a 3-junction series-connected lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 2Ah or more can be used, and the operating voltage range is roughly 9-12.6V.
2) The charging mode is different. Ni-MH or Ni-Cd batteries use constant current charging, while Li-ion batteries need to be controlled by constant voltage in addition to constant current, otherwise it may cause dissatisfaction or battery overcharging and cause safety problems ( This problem is very serious). So if you want to use lithium-ion batteries to replace the previous Ni-MH or Ni-Cd batteries, the charging circuit must be changed, or an external charging method must be used.
3) In actual use, the starting current of the motor is usually large. When replacing it, carefully match it according to the product manual of the sweeping robot, otherwise it may damage the lithium-ion battery or the lithium-ion battery protection board or cause danger.
4) The external dimensions of the battery pack should be considered. After replacing the lithium-ion battery, whether it can fit the original battery compartment. For the larger battery compartment, a large-capacity lithium-ion battery similar to 26650 can be used to obtain a long working time. .
